In the summer of 1979, company founder Ulrich Walter took over an organic shop in the small town of Diepholz in northern Germany.

He quickly realizes that there is no such thing as organic tea, coffee and spices. So he goes in search. His travels take him to southern France, Egypt and later to India.

The small organic shop Lebensbaum became a medium-sized company specializing in the production of organic tea, coffee and spices. Lebensbaum still obtains the raw materials directly from its growers. This enables a careful selection of ingredients and guarantees the good taste of the products. In principle, Lebensbaum does not use flavor enhancers or additives.
