Special Features
The oils and essential oils for these hand soaps are 100% from certified organic farming or wild harvesting. The coconut oil comes from a fair-trade project in the Dominican Republic. We source the olive oil from cooperatives in Spain, Italy, and Greece.

Biodegradability: Soap made from vegetable oils has the unique characteristic of immediately forming a compound with the calcium always present in wastewater after use. This neutralizes the soap's surface-active effect (primary degradation). This primary degradation occurs within a few hours. The lime soap is then 100% broken down by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). Ethanol reintegrates into the natural cycle within a few hours. In addition to the natural glycerin released during saponification from the oils, we also use vegetable glycerin, which binds moisture to the skin. In the production process of sugar surfactants, parts are extracted from the plant-based raw materials starch, sugar, and fat, but their natural structural composition remains completely intact. Therefore, it is relatively easy for microorganisms to break down these surfactants quickly and completely by 100%. Soap and sugar surfactants are considered readily biodegradable according to OECD.
