How to use sage leaves?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.

Dosage:
Internal use
To relieve mild digestive complaints such as heartburn and flatulence
Adults including the elderly drink 1 cup of the following mixture 3 times a day

tea infusion:
Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 1 teaspoon (approx. 1.5 g) of sage leaves, cover and let steep for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain.

To relieve increased sweat secretion
Adults, including the elderly, drink 1 cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows once a day: pour 1.5 teaspoons (approx. 2 g) of sage leaves into 150 ml of boiling water, cover and leave to steep for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain.

Application in the oral cavity

For inflammations in the mouth and throat
Adults, including the elderly, should rinse and/or gargle three times a day with an infusion prepared as follows: pour 1.5-2 teaspoons (approx. 2-3 g) of sage leaves into 100 ml of boiling water, cover and leave to steep for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain.

External use

For the relief of mild skin inflammations
Adults, including the elderly, apply an infusion prepared as follows to the affected skin areas 2-4 times a day: Pour 1.5-2 teaspoons (approx. 2-3 g) of sage leaves into 100 ml of boiling water, cover and leave to steep for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain.

Duration of use:
Internal use to relieve mild digestive complaints. If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks or recur periodically, or if symptoms worsen, a doctor must be consulted.

Internal use to relieve increased sweat secretion. If symptoms persist for more than 6 weeks or if symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted.

Gargling and rinsing in the oral cavity for inflammations in the mouth and throat
If symptoms persist for more than one week or if they worsen, you should consult a doctor.

External use to relieve mild skin inflammations

The average duration of use is 2 weeks.
