What Gallexier Herbal Bitter Elixir contains
10 ml liquid (10.85 g) contains the active ingredient:
8.9 g extract (1 : 10.6–13.0) from 693 mg of a mixture of: artichoke leaves, gentian root, turmeric root, dandelion herb with root, ginger root, yarrow herb, bitter fennel fruits, chamomile flowers, bitter orange peel, blessed thistle, bitter clover leaves, cardamom fruits, wormwood herb (41.5 : 11.8 : 8.5 : 7.2 : 5.9 : 5.8 : 5.8 : 4.3 : 4.3 : 2.1 : 1.0 : 1.0 : 0.57)
Extracting agent: water
Other ingredients: Fructose

application instructions

The recommended dose is:
Adults For the 250 ml and 500 ml pack:
Adults take 20-40 ml 3 times daily using the enclosed measuring cup.

For the 3 x 20 ml pack (1 vial corresponds to 20 ml):
Adults take the contents of 1 – 2 vials 3 times daily.

Use in children and adolescents
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age must not take Gallexier herbal bitter elixir.

Method of application:
Gallexier herbal bitter elixir is taken before or with meals.

Duration of use:
Gallexier herbal bitter elixir should not be taken for longer than 2 weeks.

If symptoms persist or if side effects other than those mentioned in the package leaflet occur, the user should consult a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.

Note for diabetics: 20 ml corresponds to 0.3 BU.

Contraindications & Side Effects

Gallexier Herbal Bitter Elixir should not be taken:

• if you are known to be hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the active ingredients, to other composite plants such as mugwort, to umbelliferous plants such as anise, caraway, celery, coriander and dill, to anethole (contained in fennel) or to the other ingredient fructose
• in case of stomach and duodenal ulcers, gallstones, obstruction or inflammation of the bile ducts, other bile duct diseases and liver diseases
• if you suffer or have suffered from a hormone-dependent tumor
• if you are breastfeeding or pregnant • by children and adolescents under 18 years of age

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin or respiratory tract, including severe allergic reactions (shortness of breath, Quincke's edema, circulatory collapse, anaphylactic shock), may occur.

Gastrointestinal complaints such as dry mouth, flatulence, nausea, heartburn, mild diarrhea may occur. Prolonged use may lead to stomach pain. In case of prolonged exposure to sun or UV radiation, the occurrence of sunburn-like skin reactions cannot be ruled out.

The frequency of these side effects cannot be estimated from the available data.
