General Information
Fontaine Heller tuna is caught individually with fishing rods according to sustainability guidelines. After the handline catch, responsible processing and refinement with the best organic ingredients follow. This canned product contains only tuna, sea salt, and mild Spanish organic extra virgin olive oil.
Special Features The handline catch is certified by Friend of the Sea© as particularly sustainable, species-friendly, and dolphin-friendly. The fishing grounds are located in the Atlantic, an ocean rich in oxygen thanks to powerful ocean currents, providing a good habitat for fish. Heller tuna in organic olive oil is particularly juicy and therefore ideal for making a fine tuna sauce or a creamy spread.
Production Processing takes place immediately after the goods are received. Skilled workers fillet the fish and place the fillets by hand into the cans. Filling with the appropriate ingredients is done by machine, as is sealing the cans. This ensures consistent contents. The subsequent hot water bath sterilizes the food, making it shelf-stable without refrigeration (fully canned). After cooling, rinsing, and packaging, the cans undergo a final quality control. Only impeccable cans with the best Fontaine fish fillets are released for sale.
Usage Ready to eat: on bread, as a base for tuna salad, or with leaf and vegetable salads. Suitable for heating: in sauces and vegetable mixes, on pizza, tarte flambée, etc.
Storage Instructions Unopened - store in a cool, dry place; once opened, keep refrigerated for 1 day.
