What to consider when using hair soap
For optimal results, a cold or acidic rinse may be necessary, depending on water hardness/hair type.
Because the harder the water, the more likely it is that soap residue/limescale will remain in the hair and not wash out properly.
So if your hair feels stringy, greasy or heavy directly after washing, there are a few helpful methods:
Hair soap should be rinsed longer and more thoroughly than conventional shampoos.
Cold rinse: Rinsing hair with cold water closes the cuticle. This gives the hair more shine and better protects it from external environmental influences.
Acidic rinse (with vinegar/lemon juice): After washing hair, rinse with one liter of cold water mixed with 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or the juice of half a lemon. Limescale/soap residue will be removed and hair will become soft and supple.
