Dosage:
Unless otherwise prescribed, drink one cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows 3 times daily: Pour boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over 2 full teaspoons (approx. 2 g) of horsetail and strain after about 10 to 15 minutes.
Note:
Ensure adequate additional fluid intake. For the preparation of compresses, use 10 g of horsetail per 1 liter of water.
Type and duration of use:
For drinking and for compresses after preparing a tea infusion.
In case of acute symptoms that last longer than one week or recur periodically, consultation with a doctor is recommended.

How to use horsetail?

Internal use
Adults including the elderly and adolescents aged 12 and over should drink 1 cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows 3-4 times a day: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 1-3 teaspoons (approx. 1-3 g) of horsetail and let it steep, covered, for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain. Ensure plenty of additional fluid intake.
External use
Adults and adolescents should apply moist compresses once to several times a day or apply an infusion prepared as follows to the affected skin area once to several times a day: Boil 10 teaspoons (approx. 10 g) of horsetail with 1 liter of water. After sufficient cooling, the decoction is used to prepare moist compresses or to apply to the wound.
Duration of use:
Internal use
Do not use for longer than 2 to 4 weeks. If symptoms persist for more than 1 week or recur periodically, or if symptoms worsen or new symptoms such as fever, painful urination, spasmodic pain, acute urinary retention, or blood in the urine occur, a doctor must be consulted.
External use
If symptoms persist for longer than 1 week, or if symptoms worsen and/or signs of skin inflammation with redness, warmth, and/or purulent discharge appear, a doctor must be consulted.
The user should consult a doctor or another qualified person working in a healing profession if symptoms of illness persist or if side effects other than those mentioned in the package insert occur.
