Eco Cosmetics

The company eco cosmetics and its predecessors have existed since 1993.

" At the beginning, as Venus, Sorge & Stirner GbR, we offered alternative practitioners an extensive range of essential oils from controlled organic cultivation for aromatherapy. Later, we also supplied large companies with essential oils ," recalls Dieter Sorge, managing director, company founder and trained alternative practitioner.

In 1998, Leyla Sorge, née Kaya, joined the company as a partner and it was renamed Venus, Sorge & Kaya GbR. New goals were defined and the product range was expanded: real soaps, nutritional supplements and a cosmetic range with active ingredients from black cumin, Demeter sea buckthorn, noni and pomegranate were added.

" Black cumin has traditionally played an important role in baking in my Turkish family. That's why it's all the nicer to be able to offer care products made from this plant that is so familiar to me ," says Leyla Sorge, who is now part of the management team. In 2004, the company was renamed ECO Cosmetics GmbH & Co KG and was the first German natural cosmetics company to be certified according to the strict guidelines of Ecocert. In the same year, the first natural cosmetics range appeared under the ECO Cosmetics brand.

All developments aim to make life healthier and more pleasant for people with allergies and sensitive skin. In 2005, at the Biofach in Nuremberg, we showed our latest development - a complete sun range with natural mineral sun protection filters.

Since then, the sun care program has been continually expanded and the recipes refined. Through intensive research, we were the first company to create purely natural sun protection products with SPF 50+. Over the years, we have developed into specialists in this field and are one of the leading companies for natural, mineral sun protection. This, along with our care products, is in demand not only in Germany, but all over the world.
