Information on production:

Byodo's environmentally friendly rice cakes are created through the simple process of "puffing", similar to making popcorn at home. Organic rice is placed in round baking molds, and the pressure from two opposing waffle molds causes the rice grains to burst open. The escaping starch "glues" all the rice grains together, creating a uniform, round rice cake. The short baking process opens up the nutrients, making them easier to digest. At the same time, the rice cake acquires its characteristic roasted taste.
